Some stories don’t begin
with a dream
They begin with a detour.
If you’d told me years ago that I would one day spend my days creating journals, writing reflections, and helping women rediscover themselves one page at a time, I wouldn’t have believed you.
My life looked very different.
For more than twenty years, I built a career in busy government offices, supporting executives, managing complex workloads, solving problems before they happened, and keeping countless moving parts running smoothly. I loved creating order from chaos. I loved systems, organisation, and helping people.
Then life quietly rewrote the story I thought I was living.
A diffuse axonal brain injury changed far more than my memory. It changed the way my mind worked.
Tasks that had once felt effortless suddenly required enormous concentration. Planning, sequencing, and holding multiple pieces of information in my mind became daily challenges. The invisible impact of executive functioning difficulties affected almost every part of my life.
For a long time, I found myself trying to become the person I had been before.
Eventually, I realised there was another path.
Not backwards.
Forward.
Different.
Gentler.
Learning to listen
Like many women, I searched for answers everywhere else before I learned to listen to myself.
I read, I researched, I bought courses, I filled notebooks. Some ideas helped, some didn’t.
One practice stayed with me…writing.
Not because I was trying to write beautifully, because writing gave shape to thoughts that otherwise felt impossible to untangle.
A blank page became somewhere my mind could slow down. Some days it held questions. Some days it held grief. Some days it simply held enough space for me to breathe.
Without realising it, journaling had become one of the most compassionte tools I had ever given myself.
Why SoulSpark Journals Exists
SoulSpark Journals wasn’t created because I had all the answers.
It was created because I know what it feels like to need a quiet place to ask better questions.
This space isn’t about fixing yourself.
It isn’t about becoming a different person.
It’s about creating small moments of honesty in a world that constantly asks us to move faster.
Here you’ll find thoughtful journals, gentle reflections, practical resources, and carefully curated recommendations—all created with the hope that they make your own journey feel a little lighter, a little calmer, and a little more intentional.
A natural next step
As my understanding of journaling continued to grow, I wanted to explore the research behind why writing can be such a powerful reflective practice.
That curiosity eventually led me to complete my training in Journal Therapy.
The certification didn’t change what I already believed.
It deepened it.
It gave language and structure to something I had experienced personally for years: that writing can help us notice patterns, process experiences, and reconnect with ourselves in ways that often surprise us.
SoulSpark Journals isn’t about therapy.
And it isn’t about me having all the answers.
It’s simply a place built on the belief that sometimes one thoughtful question, one quiet moment, or one blank page can gently change the direction of a day.
A few things I love
When I’m not creating journals, you’ll usually find me:
Reading with a cup of tea nearby
Wondering through bookstores
Designing beautiful digital resources
Collecting journals faster than I can fill them
